French Fire Force

The Bouches du Rhone department has just been through the worst fire season in a decade. Fires made worse by drought and high winds have caused huge blazes across the region and more than 8000 acres of land have burned.

Canadairs, trackers, helicopters and fire engines fight the worst forest fires the area has seen in 20 years. Faced with the flames, the battle seems unwinnable but teams of fire-fighters risk their lives to save people, houses and woodland.
