Naruto: Shippuden

Everyone returns to the Hidden Leaf Village; Kakashi is hospitalized and is scheduled to meet with Orochimaru's contact.

After attacking Naruto, Sai predicts that they will meet again; Tsunade meets with the village elders.

Naruto is furious when he discovers that Sai attacked him in order to test his strength. Sakura pulls them apart, but tensions are running high between the members of Team Kakashi.

The new Team Kakashi heads for Tenchi Bridge. Naruto and Sai are traveling together, with Sai just temporarily filling in for Sasuke. When Sai shows his contempt for Sasuke, the antagonism comes to a head; Yamato steps in to settle everyone down.

Sai and Sakura discuss why he chooses not to name any of his artworks; Yamato plots with his team to impersonate Sasori in a meeting with one of Orochimaru's operatives.

Naruto and Sai ambush a disguised Yamato and Sakura; Sai's actions during the fight irritate Naruto, and Sai argues with him about the point of saving the treasonous Sasuke.

The day to capture the spy arrives; Yamato takes on Sasori's likeness to await the spy.

Faced by his sworn enemy, Orochimaru, Naruto releases the power of his nine-tailed fox.

When his third tail appears, Naruto is blind to everything except Orochimaru.

With the fourth tail released, Naruto totally loses awareness and is overwhelmed by destructive impulses.

Naruto has changed almost completely into his animal form; Sakura is injured by Naruto; Orochimaru reaches his limit and tries to leave the battleground, but is confronted by Sai, who has brought him a message from Danzo.

Sai makes contact with Orochimaru and Orochimaru decides to take Sai back to the hideout. Yamato tells Naruto and Sakura that Sai is gone.

Naruto and Sakura are surprised to hear that Danzo's goal is to work with Orochimaru to once again attempt to defeat the Leaf Village.

Naruto learns a lesson in relying on the Nine Tails' power; Sakura reads the picture book Sai accidentally dropped, gaining insight into Sai's past.

Sai finally meets Sasuke face to face in Orochimaru's hideout; Sai stays with Orochimaru in exchange for some valuable information.

With Yamato guiding them, Team Kakashi finds and questions Sai about Danzo's plans for destroying the Leaf Village.

Kabuto cripples Naruto in combat in his attempt to rescue Sai; Team Kakashi zeroes in on Sasuke's whereabouts.

While the wounds caused by the nine-tailed fox resurface, Naruto tries to find Sasuke; Sai thinks of his older brother and decides to finish his picture book.

Having a look at Sai's book of assassinated targets, Naruto, Sakura and Yamato suspect Sai has orders to kill Sasuke; Sai confronts Sasuke as Team Kakashi races to save him.

After their long-awaited reunion with Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura find him fully committed to getting revenge upon his older brother, Itachi.

Sasuke's desire for revenge remains firm; Yamato tries to take Sasuke by force, but Orochimaru interferes.
