Cho Pil Yeon takes in Hong Ki Pyo, while Mi Joo and Jung Ja are devastated as their house is searched. Cho orders Jae Chun to catch Hwang Tae Seob as well. Min Woo reassures Jung Yeon and Gang Mo says he will find out why Hwang was taken in.

Jung Yeon yells in surprise when she finds Gang Mo bleeding and unconscious. He is taken to the hospital.

The employees gossip about Min Woo and Jung Yeon. Min Woo announces their engagement at a company dinner.

Gang Mo is arrested as a murder suspect. Sung Mo realizes their relationship and is shocked.

Gang Mo escapes with help from Sung Mo. Jung Yeon seeks Tae Seob and begs him to clear Gang Mo's name.

Jung Yeon, crying after Gang Mo refuses to accept her to the end, walks vacantly to the sea. Gang Mo begins to walk away but stops with a strange feeling. He turns around to see Jung Yeon drowning. Out of his mind, he runs into the sea to save her.

Gang Mo is sentenced to four-year imprisonment and demands land in Gaepo from Tae Seob. Jung Yeon visits him.

Mi Joo tells Sung Mo that the composer promised to write her a song. Sung Mo, pleased, offers to support her.

Min Woo warns Mi Joo to be careful of Jung Sik. Jung Yeon is shocked to hear about the whereabouts of Gang Mo.

Jung Yeon learns Cho Pil Yeon sent Gang Mo to Samchung Penitentiary at Jung Sik and Min Woo's request. She swears to take revenge for Gang Mo who died unjustly, and asks Si Deok to find out the current status of the company's stock ownership.

Gang Mo drives a hard bargain. When Baek Pa requests to see collateral, Gang Mo hands him his business plan.

Gang Mo promises Baek Pa a dividend and founds a company with his investment. Jung Yeon becomes a director.

Gang Mo makes a comment about Tae Seob, which has President Chun reminisce about the heydays of contractors.

Jung Yeon leaves disappointed after being denied a contract. Gang Mo feels a pang to see Jung Yeon dejected.

Hwang Tae Seob, who has learned Gang Mo is Dae Soo's son, changes his will to give him half of his fortune. Cho Pil Yeon asks Director Oh who visits him in prison to obtain illicit information on politicans.

Cho Pil Yeon attempts to asssinate Hwang Tae Seob, but Gang Mo helps him out of the crisis. When he goes into a coma, Nam Sook tries to change Hwang's will which leaves half of his fortune to Gang Mo.

Gang Mo is about to enter the room when Sung Mo tells him not to. He pushes him aside and opens the door to see Cho Pil Yeon and Goh Jae Chun. As the door opens further he sees Jung Yeon turn around.

Jung Yeon sabotages Gang Mo's apartment construction and he seeks out Cho Pil Yeon. Cho Pil Yeon sarcastically tells Gang Mo to kneel and beg, to which he replies he will be the one to kneel and beg one day soon.

Gang Mo hesitates over whether to use the information Min Woo gave him. When the bank loans are denied, he meets with the bank president and presents the Baekje relics unearthed on Manbo's construction site.

When Jung Yeon's construction is delayed Gang Mo mistakes it as due to manipulation from higher up. Cho Pil Yeon tells Sung Mo he decided the person who gave Gang Mo the account book of secret funds is an insider, and he will catch him soon.

Gang Mo receives a long-awaited call from Mi Joo. Tae Seob's letter surprises Jung Sil and Nam Sook.

Min Woo asks for his father's help. Jung Yeon is shocked to learn that Gang Mo didn't try to kill her father.

At the Suseo District information meeting, Min Woo warns Gang Mo not to dream of participating in the development. Gang Mo mocks Min Woo, asking whether he will get the business rights by lobbying again this time.

Enraged by Min Woo's manipulations, Gang Mo throws a punch. Min Woo continues to give Gang Mo difficulty.

Gang Mo asks Si Deok to look into Bu Chul, displeased with how he hovers around Jung Yeon. Bu Chul approaches Min Woo in order to meet Cho Pil Yeon, presenting his business card and saying he will do anything he asks.

Cho Pil Yeon feels angry as Gang Mo tries to take over the boiler company with Baek Pa's backing. Cho Pil Yeon uses Bu Chul and sets up a plans to ruin Gang Mo and Jung Yeon.

Gang Mo who has successfully taken over the boiler company, enjoys dinner with Jung Yeon at a restaurant and orders the expensive wine she used to like. Jung Yeon declines saying it is too expensive, as they sit facing each other awkwardly.

Jung Yeon's proposal to legitimize the business is well-received by Baek Pa, though his subordinates protest.

Gang Mo tells Bu Chul he'll kill everyone if they harm Jung Yeon. Bu Chul gives the receiver to one of his henchmen, saying Jung Yeon will die the moment Gang Mo reports to the police, and to wait quietly until he contacts him.

Noh Gap Su drinks alone inside the Japanese restaurant. Gyung Ok enters and asks where all of the other loan sharks are. Noh suggest she sit if she has come as representative. She tells him he is supposed to pay the principal in one week.

Sung Mo waits for Gang Mo, but doesn't see him and is about to enter alone. At this time a car pulls up and Min Woo rushes inside the broadcast station. Sung Mo is unable to hide his shock at seeing him.

Gyung Ok receives disturbing news about the prospects of her business. Min Woo holds a press conference.

Sung Mo is being examined in the interrogation room while Chan Sung is also suspected. Chan Sung's phone is tapped and his movements are reported via radio by an agent.

Chief Park and Min Hong Ki interrogate Sung Mo, while the scene cuts to Hwang Tae Seob and Gang Mo meeting in the Japanese restaurant. Gang Mo vows to reveal whatever they are hiding.

Sung Mo holds his gun to two agents' heads, and tells them to call the security chief. Cho Pil Yeon receives the call that Sung Mo is creating a hostage situation and asks what he his demanding.

Politicians from both the ruling and the opposition parties attend the event. Gang Mo tries to read the room.

Reporter Kim confirms it is certain Cha Su Jung is Lee Mi Joo and Woo Ju is her son. He says he will dig up more information on Cha Su Jung and write an article. Min Woo hears this and pays Reporter Kim to stay quiet.

Tae Seob and Young Guk are being tortured in the underground interrogation room. The two are barely conscious.

Mi Joo holds back tears on the phone in the shoe store, but cries when the police says they are searching, but cannot confirm whether Sung Mo is alive. Overcome with shock, she faints thinking about the possibility he could be dead.

Jae Chun hears a patient with a bullet lodged in his head visited a hospital in Sokcho city, and rushes to Cho Pil Yeon with the news. Sent by Cho Pil Yeon, he shows a picture at the reception desk and asks if the patient has visited the hospital.

Gang Mo takes the stand as the public hearing resumes. He mentions Pil Yeon's account book of secret funds.
